The scene is Douglas and Fynn, warming up in Poppa Joe’s Coffee Shop in Ferndale California. We’d hoped to drive the Lost Road that morning which wound through the coastal mountains, but while having our coffee were told that Matilda, with her rear-wheel-drive, probably wouldn’t make the 18% grade on a wet road. We went to a rutted and windy beach instead.
