This piece shows Fynn standing on Gold Beach, staring at the Pacific on a cold December morning in 2016. We’d parked for the night in front of Kissing Rock on the Oregon coast, wending our way south via Route 101. There’s a freedom in boondocking on the side of the road, and an even greater freedom in losing yourself in the pounding of the surf. Both are heart-changing.
